Weekly Roundup and Homework20 September 2024 (by Ellie Gath (Ellie Gath)) |
Hi everyone,
Year 1 have homework to take home today which consists of 1. Reading Books, 2. Numbots practise (we should all have logins now please let me know if there's any issues with this), 3. Spelling- the next 3 common exception words: to, today, of' and 4. Extra Science focused task: write the names of each of the year and draw a picture for each.
This week we have been busy learning about the weather and seasons of the year in Science which has been our focus this week in the afternoons. Phonics groups have been working well, and children should all have a new book now for this week to practise. In RE we discussed the different beliefs that people may have and thought about where things in our world may have been created. We also had circle time in PSHE where we all shared our thoughts as to what friendship is and what we think is an important quality in a friend.
In English we have all produced work for our writing wall using our best handwriting, thinking about objects in our favourite colour, before we then we moved on to thinking about what an adjective is. In Maths we have been using lots of different resources this week in groups to help us understand the order of numbers in a sequence as well as matching different groups together that represent the same number.
Well done to Year 1! Have a lovely weekend :)
