Dear Parents/Carers,

We are pleased to inform you about an exciting and hands-on educational workshop for pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. The children will be taking part in a Roman Oil Lamp Ceramic Workshop, which will take place at school on Thursday 19th March and Friday 20th March.

This promises to be a memorable and enriching experience for all pupils involved.

Workshop Objectives

By the end of the session, pupils will be able to: Understand how Romans made and used oil lamps, use clay safely with moulds, tools, slip and scoring, join two moulded halves to create a complete lamp, add a Roman-style sprig decoration, work cooperatively with a partner, follow safety and safeguarding expectations.

Consent and Payment

A contribution of £5.00 per child is required to cover the cost of the workshop materials and specialist delivery.
