Dear Year 1 and Year 2 Parents and Carers,
We are delighted to share that Elstree and Borehamwood Council has chosen our school to support this year’s Earth Day celebrations. This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about caring for the environment and taking pride in our school community.
The council is kindly providing us with a range of resources, including litter pickers, plants, and materials to build a bug hotel. As part of this project, our Year 1 and Year 2 children will be taking part in planting activities and creating their own bug hotel to encourage wildlife in our garden.
To help make this experience even more meaningful, we would greatly appreciate any support from families. If possible, could you please donate:
- A bag of compost for our Year 1 and 2 garden
- Watering cans
- Any other gardening items that could support the children’s planting activities
- Plants
- Anything about gardening
Your contributions, big or small, will help the children develop a sense of responsibility for nature and enjoy hands-on learning outdoors.
